GeoStratify, the team behind ImaginEarth
GIS, remote sensing and Earth observation, in Toulouse
ImaginEarth was born from a passion for images of the Earth. It is developed by GeoStratify, the geographic information systems (GIS) and Earth observation consultancy of its founder, Guillaume Rieu, in Toulouse.
Know-how in Earth observation
An agricultural engineer (Purpan) and a graduate of AgroParisTech's SILAT advanced master's, Guillaume Rieu spent six years at Terranis developing satellite services for agriculture and the environment. This remote-sensing know-how is at the heart of ImaginEarth: choosing the best Sentinel-2 image, processing the signal, revealing the colours and the relief.
Three activities
- Training: hands-on courses in optical and radar remote sensing, drones and photogrammetry, given with the training organisation IDGEO.
- Development: Earth observation data platforms, web GIS applications, Python processing chains and object detection with artificial intelligence.
- Consulting: gathering needs, specifications, architecture choices and support through to delivery.
Projects in France and abroad
GeoStratify works with local authorities, companies and international organisations: Expertise France, with the Earth Observation Innovation Labs in Kenya, the Sophia Antipolis urban community, ESA or EUSPA. ImaginEarth's EO4ART project won EUSPA's MyEUSpace competition in 2022. GeoStratify also develops Strata, an open-source platform to access, process and visualise satellite images at scale.
What it means for your images
The tools that create your ImaginEarth images (searching for captures, signal processing, relief rendering, GPU computing) come from this daily work on Earth observation data. GeoStratify is a member of the Aerospace Valley competitiveness cluster.
